Aw Ah Need is a Gin an' a Badge (2005)
This body of work was created while on sabbatical at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Aberdeenshire, Scotland during the fall of 2005. Driving through the highlands, I had countless conversations with European and Australian travelers who all wanted to know why Americans voted for George Bush and if he had started drinking again. All were amazed that the American people could be so manipulated by a government that exploits fear of terrorism and demands loyalty like a playground bully with a sheriff’s badge. There are 30 cast aluminum stars to this series, and all are left knicked, bruised and unpolished.
